LAA's Faces of 2025
We want to introduce Lubbock Apartment Association's 2025 President and Board of Directors.
Every year, we install a new President and Board of Directors. This year, we are installing Jason Cantu as our 2025 President. For those who have not yet had the pleasure of getting to know Jason, we would like to tell you a few things about him. Incoming President: Jason Cantu - NALP, CAM, CAPS, CPO, EPA
Jason Cantu is a devoted husband to his wife, Elizabeth, and a proud father of two wonderful daughters, Kennedy and Stevie. As the Associate Director of Property Management for Tigris Real Estate, Jason plays a pivotal role in overseeing the company’s property management operations and ensuring its portfolio meets the highest standards of quality and excellence.
With over 15 years of experience in the multifamily industry, including 11 years with Tigris Real Estate, Jason brings unparalleled expertise and dedication to his work. Originally from Houston, Texas, he moved to Lubbock in 2000 and graduated Magna Cum Laude from Texas Tech University in 2004 with a degree in Human Development and Family Studies. His commitment to professional growth and excellence is evident in his numerous achievements and leadership roles within the industry.
Jason has been an active member of our local association since beginning his career in 2009. His dedication has led to significant contributions, including serving as Co-Chair of the Community Service Committee in 2017 and being recognized as Regional Manager of the Year in 2018. In 2019, he further showcased his commitment to education by co-chairing the Education Committee. In 2021, Jason was honored to complete the National Apartment Association's Diversity Leadership Program. In 2024, he graduated from the Texas Apartment Association’s Leadership Lyceum while simultaneously co-chairing the TAA Independent Rental Owners Committee.
Jason’s passion for serving others is at the heart of everything he does. He firmly believes in the power of community and strives to uplift and support his peers. As President, Jason is committed to serving the members of the Lubbock Apartment Association by fostering education, advocacy, and community involvement. He aims to enhance the association's impact within the local community while representing Lubbock on the state and national stages. Through collaboration, innovation, and a servant's heart, Jason is dedicated to ensuring the continued growth and success of the association and its members.
